Dynamic Massage

Where education and method are integrated for a holistic treatment

Description of Modalities

Swedish Massage

The pressure can be light, medium or firm. It is key in warming up soft tissue for more specific work, as well as guiding the nervous system into a parasympathetic state.

Deep Tissue Work

The purpose of deep tissue is to focus on problem areas, gradually increasing pressure, allowing the tissue to soften, as the body allows me to sink into the deeper layers.

-It is counterproductive if you are holding your breath, cringing, or ‘toughing through it’. Nor, should I be forcing my way through the layers. If you are in a state of stress; physically, mentally or emotionally then the nervous system will not allow your muscles to relax.

Cupping

Using negative pressure to pull soft tissue up and away from the body, cupping can help ‘create space’ between each layer, releasing areas of restriction.

I do not leave cups in any one spot for more than a few minutes and I will typically glide each cup around. Muscle ‘knots’ don’t just show up, something created that knot and the source needs to be treated.

CranioSacral Therapy

Stresses, strains and injuries, the body absorbs it all. Over time, this can affect the central nervous system and nearly every other system in the body.

I gently follow and assess the speed and strength of the craniosacral rhythm (the flow of cerebrospinal fluid).

Treating areas of restriction, allows the central nervous system to relax and the body can self-correct.

Qi, Meridians & Acupressure

Incorporating acupressure points into a massage can help with a clients short term and long term goals.

Unwinding Meridians is a treatment that focuses on balancing the flow of Qi along the meridians, and clear any blocks, if needed.

Visceral Manipulation - Abdomen

If mobility of an organ is impaired due to injury, surgery, illness, posture, diet, etc. then functional and structural problems will arise in time.

By gently helping your body reset and self-correct, releasing restrictions and freeing up organs to move with ease, the function of organs can improve, mobility (range of motion) can improve, symptoms can be resolved, and aches/pains can decrease.
